Experimental[fr] Le Oops tire son origine de recherches “calligraphiques” : la plume biseautée fut utilisée avec la semi-innocence d'un dessinateur de caractères sans expérience dans la pratique de la calligraphie. Les maladresses qui en résultèrent furent volontairement gardées dans un caractère de titrage très distinctif, sombre et condensé.[en] Oops started out from a “calligraphic” experiment : the broad-nibbed pen was used with the half-innocence of a typeface designer with no formal training in the practice of calligraphy. Misuses of the tool leading to quirky details were voluntarily left as part of the design. The result is a very distinctive, dark, condensed, display typeface.

Experimental[fr] Le Gem explore les formes très spécifiques des lettrages et des caractères typographiques Art Nouveau (notamment l’Auriol, de Georges Auriol, 1904). Il conserve des détails singuliers mais intègre des options de dessin contemporaines. En filigrane, c'est une réflexion sur les temps du tracé, le ductus.[en] Gem explores the very specific shapes of Art Nouveau lettering and typefaces (such as Auriol, by Georges Auriol, 1904). Some idiosyncrasic details have been kept, but with contemporary drawing features. It is also a reflection on the consecutive steps involved in the drawing of a letter (the ductus).

Experimental[fr] Le Sabasi tente d'allier un aspect doux, rond et enfantin, à des détails plus acérés et incisifs. Sa petite hauteur d'œil crée des lignes de texte très marquées, chose peu courante pour un caractère sans empattements. Il possède également de nombreuses fonctionnalités OpenType qui permettent de moduler l’aspect ludique du caractère.[en] Sabasi is an attempt at combining soft, round and almost childlike features to some sharper and more incisive details. Its small x-height create some very visble lines of text, which is quite uncommon for a sans serif typeface. It also has many OpenType features which enable the user to modulate the degree of playfulness.

Experimental[fr] Le Vingt-huit est un hybride. Il mêle à son bon vouloir des formes issues de l'écriture Fraktur à d'autres issues de linéales de titrage. Il en résulte un caractère très sombre, proche l'écriture Fraktur dans ses transitions, dans son contraste extrême, tout en êtant résolument contemporain.[en] Vingt-huit (french for twenty eight) is an hybrid. It mixes to its good will shapes coming from the Fraktur script to others coming from display sans serif. The result is a very dark typeface, close to Fraktur in its transitions and sheer contrast while remaining very contemporary.

Condensé et très sombre, il apporte une personnalité forte aux titres sans pour autant  compromettre la lisibilité. Il a été spécifiquement pensé pour être couplé au caractère de texte «Minion». [en] «Dijon» was conceived  for the identity of Dijon's Opera house. Condensed and very dark, it gives titles a strong personality without compromising legibility. It was designed specifically to be set along with the text typeface «Minion».

Prix : Club des Directurs Artistiques (2011)[fr] Ce caractère exclusif est destiné à l’identité visuelle du paysagiste Camille Muller ainsi qu’à un livre dédié à son travail. Il dépasse les classifications «classiques» en jouant sur une variation de graisses et de contrastes. L'ambivalence qui en découle permet de s’adapter aussi bien au titrage qu’au texte courant. [en] This custom typeface is to be used for the visual identity of the landscape architect, as well as for a book about his work. It goes beyond usual classification schemes by using a large array of weights and contrasts. The resulting ambivalence makes for a large family which can fulfil the needs of both display and text typography.

Avec : l’Atelier Chévara[fr] «L’Ecam» a été conçu comme un acteur majeur dans l’identité visuelle du théâtre du Kremlin-Bicêtre. Basé sur une grille modulaire, il est enrichi d'un grand nombre de ligatures qui lui confèrent un fort pouvoir identitaire.[en] «Ecam» was designed as a major element in the identity program of the Kremlin-Bicêtre theater. Based on a modular grid, it features a large amount of ligatures which give it a strong identification power.

Université de Reading[fr] Le Ficus a été developpé dans le cadre du Master en Typeface Design de l’Université de Reading (Royaume-Uni). C’est un exercice sur le modèle des caractères pour dictionnaires.
Les nombreuses contraintes qui en découlent ont façonné un caractère lisible en petits corps, très peu encombrant et disposant de nombreuses variables pour autant de niveaux de lectures.[en] Ficus was designed during the Master in Typeface Design at the University of Reading (UK). It is an exercise on the model of typefaces for dictionaries. The numerous constraints derived from this environment have tailored a typeface which is very legible in small sizes, space-saving and with many variants to accomodate the different information levels.

Client : Agence Digitaline[fr] On retrouve dans le Digitaline une structure proche du Futura, mais aussi certains détails qui témoignent d’une forte contemporanéité. Les variations de graisses allant du filaire au gras ainsi que de nombreuses variantes stylistiques offrent une large palette typographique.[en] The structure of Digitaline is close to Futura's, but it also shows some very contemporary details. The weights going from Hairline to Bold as well as many stylistic alternates offer a large typographic palette.

Client : L’Arbre à café
Avec : l’Atelier Chévara[fr] «L’arbre» a été conçu, spécifiquement pour l’identité de la marque «L’arbre à Café». Inspiré des caractères d’affiches publicitaires des années trente, il est enrichi d’un grand nombre de fonds géométriques et se prête à une composition en rosace. [en] «Arbre» was designed for the identity of the coffee brand «L’arbre à Café». It is inspired by letterings present in poster of the 30’s, and is enriched with a large amount of geometrical backgrounds. As a result, it particularily lends itself to be set around circles.
